FAQNPC PRICES
How are “estimated” NPC shop prices worked out?

The game files say what an NPC pays you for an item, but not what an NPC shop charges. The game server sends shop prices while you play. So until a player reports the real price, we estimate it.

When we compared the prices NPC shops charge with what NPCs pay for the same items, the shop price was a fixed multiple of the sell-back price for almost every item (about 96% of the 330 items checked):

Item typeShop priceExample (NPC pays → shop charges)
Equipment below level 202×Long Sword: 1,500 → 3,000
Equipment level 20 and up3×Iron Dagger: 4,500 → 13,500
HP/MP potions and food10×Red Potion: 5 → 50
Stat potions (Warrior, Sniper, Speed…)2×Warrior Potion: 250 → 500
Return scrolls, arrows, throwing stars2×Return Scroll – Nearest Town: 200 → 400
Chairs2×Sky-blue Wooden Chair: 500 → 1,000
Dyes4×Black Dye: 250 → 1,000

Things to keep in mind:

  • An estimate doesn't mean an NPC sells it. Most drops, ores and higher-level gear aren't stocked by any NPC shop. The estimate is what a shop would charge if it stocked the item.
  • NPC shops mostly stock gear up to about level 30, so estimates for higher-level gear are less likely to match a real shop.
  • A few items break the pattern (Elixirs and Pet Food, for example), so we don't estimate those.
  • Scrolls, monster drops and other item types aren't estimated, because the pattern hasn't been checked for them.
  • A price a player reports from an NPC shop always replaces the estimate. If you spot a difference, add the real price with “An NPC shop sells it”.
  • Estimates aren't used for the “Buy under” suggestion. Only reported NPC shop prices are.
  • “List it at” recommends 10% under the NPC shop price, so buyers save by buying from you instead of the NPC. With no player prices yet, that uses the estimate. Once players report sales, the suggestion follows their prices, and only a reported NPC shop price can lower it.

Item names, icons and NPC sell-back prices come from the OSMS datamine of the Classic World client (October 12, 2026). Game data and icons belong to Nexon. NPC shop prices for a few items come from MeowDB. Other NPC shop prices are either reported by players or estimated from what NPCs pay (how estimates work). Player prices are what contributors to this page have reported. Each player counts once per item, so posting the same price many times doesn't move it. Prices far outside an item's usual range are left out, and so are sales well above what NPC shops charge or below what NPCs pay, and reports that two players (or an admin) flag. When only one or two players have priced an item, their prices are checked against other players' shop listings, and the suggestion is marked low confidence.
